In a recent development at Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University (COOU), the Acting Vice Chancellor, Prof. Kate Azuka Omenugha, has declared a new deadline for the payment of school fees for students in their 200L to final year. This decision comes after a thorough consideration of the challenges and concerns raised by the undergraduate students.

During her interactions with the students on Friday, December 8th, 2023, Prof. Omenugha acknowledged the difficulties faced by students and decided to extend the deadline to provide some relief. The University Management, under her leadership, has carefully reviewed the 2023/2024 Academic calendar and has officially set the new deadline for the payment of school fees to be January 20, 2024.

However, it is crucial for students and their guardians to note that failing to meet this extended deadline will result in a penalty. Late payments after January 20, 2024, will incur a penalty of Twenty Thousand Naira (₦20,000.00).
