Deputy Senate President, Barau Jibrin, highlighted the vital role of research conducted by universities and tertiary institutions in addressing the challenges facing Nigeria. During a meeting with the management of Nasarawa State University, led by Vice-Chancellor Professor Suleiman Bala Mohammed, Senator Barau underscored the importance of research to tackle current national issues.

He stated, “Aside from training our young men and women, the universities and other institutions should embark on research to address our challenges. It’s one of the fundamentals of a viable country. Research work is lacking in our universities, and it is one of the fundamentals of resolving the challenges in our institutions."
