The WhatsApp number of Nigeria’s Minister of Education, Professor Tahir Mamman, has been hacked and is currently being misused by unauthorized individuals, according to a statement released by his office on Friday.

The statement, issued by Boriowo Folasade, the Director of Press and Public Relations in the Ministry of Education, warned the public about the compromised number and urged everyone to be vigilant.

“We deeply regret any inconvenience this may cause and urge everyone to disregard any message or request received from the said number until further notice,” the statement read.

The minister’s office confirmed that the breach has been reported to the relevant authorities, and investigations are underway.
