Ex-UNILAG VC Ogundipe Urges Aletheia University's First Students to Tackle Nigeria's Challenges

Professor Oluwatoyin Ogundipe, the immediate past Vice-Chancellor of the University of Lagos, has urged the 33 pioneer students of Aletheia University, Ago-Iwoye, Ogun State, to use their academic programs to become solution providers to Nigeria’s problems.

Ogundipe made this call during the maiden matriculation ceremony of the private institution for the 2023/2024 academic session, held last Saturday at the university's site. Delivering the matriculation lecture titled "Paradigm Shift in University Education: The Aletheia University Perspective," he highlighted persistence, risk-taking, passion, discipline, integrity, and sacrifice as key factors for the new students to achieve their academic and life goals.

Aletheia University's Vice-Chancellor, Professor Amos Olusanya, also addressed the new students, emphasizing the importance of excellence and focus to stand out among their peers. He assured that the institution's programs are accredited by the National Universities Commission (NUC) and announced plans to expand the academic offerings in the coming years.

The institution's founder, Major General Adebanjo Awosanya, advised students against procrastination and emphasized the university's commitment to using technology and critical thinking to address Nigeria's challenges. He promised that graduates would be well-prepared for national and international relevance.

The ceremony marks the first stage of the intellectual journey for Aletheia University's inaugural class, who are expected to graduate with four certificates: a degree, ICT, entrepreneurial, and professional qualifications.
