In a significant development for higher education infrastructure, the Federal Government has officially commissioned six projects valued at N 2,775,227,111.78 at Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, Anambra. These projects, sponsored by the Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETfund) through its 2019 Special High Impact Intervention initiative, represent a substantial investment in advancing educational facilities.

Mr. Sonny Echono, Executive Secretary of TETFund, highlighted the fund's interventions at the university since 2009, amounting to a total allocation of N10,567,075,176.00 for infrastructure-related projects. Approximately 87.33% of these funds have already been utilized for essential facilities within the university.

In his assurance, Mr. Echono conveyed TETFund's ongoing commitment to supporting the university's pursuit of academic excellence and fostering creativity through meaningful research endeavors.

The projects' inauguration was part of the 17th Convocation and Graduation ceremony of the institution, according to Prof. Charles Esimone, Vice-Chancellor of UNIZIK. Prof. Esimone expressed gratitude to TETFund and the project contractors for their dedication in completing these facilities.

This development reflects the government's commitment to enhancing the educational landscape and providing modern, well-equipped facilities for students and faculty at Nnamdi Azikiwe University.
