Federal Polytechnic Damaturu Takes Delivery of Newly Constructed Pathology Laboratory

The Federal Polytechnic Damaturu has officially taken delivery of a newly constructed pathology laboratory, marking a significant milestone in the institution's efforts to enhance its healthcare services.

 

The laboratory, constructed by Elegance Construction Company Limited, was handed over to the Acting Rector, Dr. Ibrahim Babale Gashua, in a ceremony held on Wednesday. The project was funded through the 2024 capital project, aimed at upgrading the polytechnic's clinic facilities.

According to the Director of Physical Planning and Procurement, Engr. Bukar Hassan, the new laboratory will help decongest the existing laboratory and other sections of the clinic, ultimately improving the overall healthcare experience for students and staff.

 

The Head of Medical Services, Abubakar Lamba, conducted the Acting Rector on a tour of the facility, highlighting its various sections, including chemical pathology, medical laboratory, dispensary, pharmacy, and practical laboratories for Science Laboratory and Technology (SLT) students.

While receiving the keys to the laboratory from the representative of Elegance Construction Company, Engr. Adamu Bahago, the Acting Rector emphasized that the provision of the pathology laboratory was initiated to add value to the polytechnic's clinic, benefiting not only the institution's community but also the wider public.

 

The completion of this project demonstrates the Federal Polytechnic Damaturu's commitment to providing quality healthcare services and enhancing its infrastructure to support the well-being of its students and staff.
