NOUN Continues To Lead In Open And Distance Learning As Institutions Seek To Understudy Its Mode
The National Open University of Nigeria, NOUN, continues to set the pace in Open and Distance Learning, ODL, in Nigeria, with institutions across Africa seeking to understudy its model.
Earlier today, officials from the Centre for Sustainable Procurement, Environmental and Social Standards0 Enhancement, Federal University of Technology, Owerri, FUTO, were at the NOUN headquarters to learn how the University successfully runs its ODL model.

The visit comes barely a week after the Government of The Gambia also visited NOUN for the same purpose.
The renewed interest follows a recent remark by Nigeria’s Minister of State for Education that “Only the National Open University of Nigeria is approved to offer university degrees through the open and on-line learning mode in Nigeria.”
With over 120 study centres nationwide and more than 150,000 active students, NOUN has become the reference point for institutions looking to expand access to quality, cost-effective tertiary education through ODL.
The back-to-back visits underscore the growing recognition of NOUN as the leader in open and distance learning, both within Nigeria and across Africa.
