The National Union of Yobe State Students (NUYOSS), Federal University Gashua chapter, has issued a communiqué addressing the delay in the disbursement of the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) student loan.

The delay has caused concerns among students, prompting the university to investigate the matter.

To address the issue, NUYOSS has sought the intervention of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) JCC Yobe Axis, which has assured that the matter will be escalated to the NANS Zone E Coordinator for attention. A formal letter of complaint will also be sent to the Managing Director of NELFUND to facilitate a speedy resolution.

This development comes as NELFUND has previously clarified that delays in disbursement are often due to ongoing payment processing and security checks to protect public funds and ensure proper allocation .
