Federal University of Technology, Akure Releases Proposed Academic Calendar for 2024/2025 Session

The Federal University of Technology, Akure (FUTA) has released its proposed academic calendar for the 2024/2025 undergraduate academic session. The first semester will begin on Monday, 25th November 2024, with the opening of the online registration portal for all undergraduates. Orientation for fresh students will take place, followed by the commencement of lectures on Monday, 6th January 2025. 

Key dates for the first semester include the Christmas holiday from Wednesday, 25th to Thursday, 26th December 2024, and the New Year holiday on Wednesday, 1st January 2025. A mid-semester break is scheduled from Monday, 31st March to Friday, 4th April 2025, with lectures ending on Friday, 28th March 2025. The first semester will conclude with exams from Monday, 7th to Saturday, 19th April 2025.

The second semester will start with online registration and the arrival of students, followed by the resumption of lectures. Mid-semester break will take place before lectures end on Monday, 26th May 2025. Late registration will commence on Monday, 12th May 2025, and end on Friday, 30th May 2025. The semester will conclude with the second-semester examinations from Thursday, 10th to Saturday, 12th July 2025.

The proposed academic calendar consists of 18 weeks per semester, including 15 weeks of lectures, one week of lecture-free time, and two weeks for examinations.
