Fire at Anambra Seminary School Claims Student Life

A fire broke out at Bishop Crowther Memorial Seminary School in Awka, the capital of Anambra State, killing one student and destroying several properties. The incident occurred around 11:30 p.m. on Saturday, damaging the school’s hostel, including mattresses and other belongings.

The cause of the fire is currently unknown. The deceased student was taken to a mortuary following the incident.

The state Fire Service Chief, Chukwudi Chiketa, confirmed the fire and stated that firefighters were deployed immediately to contain the blaze. On Sunday, Chiketa visited the school for an inspection and reported that the fire affected part of the hostel, with no other casualties or injuries recorded.
