Arkansas high school teacher has been sentenced to 13 years in prison for sexually assaulting a minor student.

33-year old Heather Hare, an high school teacher at Bryant High school, has been accused of r*ping one of her minor students. According to a news release from the Eastern District of Arkansas, Hare taught Family Consumer Science classes at Bryant High School. After meeting the minor victim in their senior year, she gave them one-on-one counseling sessions, leading to giving them her personal phone number and maintaining contact on social media sites like Instagram and Snapchat. It was revealed that the student was 17 when the sexual activity started.

The s*xual activities reportedly took place 20-30 times at her home, her vehicle, her classroom, and in the parking lot at Bryant High School. According to authorities, Hare even organized and led a class field trip to Washington D.C. where she had molested the victim. Hare pleaded guilty in federal court to one count of interstate/foreign travel for prostitution/sexual activity by coercion and one count of transportation of a minor with intent to engage in criminal sexual activity. Hare has been sentenced to 13 years in prison and will serve a lifetime of supervised release.
