LASU Retains Position as Best State University in Nigeria in 2024 AD Scientific Index Ranking

Lagos State University (LASU) has once again reinforced its reputation as a leading research institution, with five of its professors from the College of Medicine (LASUCOM) making the prestigious Stanford University Ranking of the Top 2% Scientists in Nigeria.

LASU Retains Position as Best State University in Nigeria in 2024 AD Scientific Index Ranking

Lagos State University (LASU) has once again reinforced its reputation as a leading research institution, with five of its professors from the College of Medicine (LASUCOM) making the prestigious Stanford University Ranking of the Top 2% Scientists in Nigeria. This recognition comes as LASU also retained its position as the best state university in Nigeria for the third consecutive year in the 2024 AD Scientific Index Ranking.

The Stanford University publication, which is considered one of the most authoritative scientific rankings globally, annually recognizes the most cited scientists based on their research output and influence.

In addition to this international recognition, LASU's consistent top rankings in the AD Scientific Index are a testament to its growing research culture. The institution was ranked the best state university in Nigeria, 10th among the 174 public universities, and 12th overall out of 237 ranked universities in the country. These rankings further highlight LASU's emergence as one of Nigeria's top research hubs.

Congratulating the professors, LASU Vice-Chancellor Prof. Ibiyemi Olatunji-Bello, mni, NPOM, praised their contributions to the university and its College of Medicine. She noted that their achievement reflects LASU’s commitment to excellence in research and hopes it will inspire other academic staff to enhance their teaching and research efforts, and publish their findings on recognized platforms for greater visibility.
