Former Akanu Ibiam Poly Lecturer Elevated to Monsignor by Catholic Church
The Catholic Diocese of Abakaliki is set to invest a former lecturer of Akanu Ibiam Federal Polytechnic as a Monsignor in recognition of his service and dedication. The investiture ceremony will take place at St. Theresa Cathedral Abakaliki today, alongside six other priests.

In a notable recognition of his dedicated service and contributions to the Catholic Church, the Catholic Diocese of Abakaliki is preparing to invest a former lecturer of Akanu Ibiam Federal Polytechnic and former Chaplain of Stella Maris Chaplaincy, AIFPU, as a Monsignor. The investiture ceremony is scheduled to take place today at St. Theresa Cathedral Abakaliki, commencing at 10 am.

Monsignor is an honorary title bestowed upon certain priests as a token of appreciation for their outstanding services and unwavering commitment to the Church. Among the distinguished priests to be vested with this prestigious title is Fr. Onwukaike, who served as both an educator and a spiritual guide during his tenure at Akanu Ibiam Federal Polytechnic.
