FULafia Celebrates Dr. Labulo Hassan’s Selection for UNDP GreenTech Programme

The Federal University of Lafia (FULafia) has commended Dr. Labulo Ayomide Hassan of the Department of Chemistry for his selection to the prestigious United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) Timbuktoo GreenTech Hub Accelerator Programme.
The programme, launched on December 6, 2024, at the Konza Technology Hub in Kenya, supports startups developing innovative solutions in renewable energy generation, storage, and access tailored to African needs.
FULafia Vice-Chancellor, Professor Shehu Abdul Rahman, described Hassan’s achievement as a testament to the talent and innovation fostered at the university. He urged faculty and students to draw inspiration from this accomplishment and pursue solutions to global challenges.
Dr. Hassan expressed gratitude to the vice-chancellor and university community, acknowledging their support and emphasizing the importance of collaboration in driving innovation. He described the programme as an opportunity to develop impactful green solutions for global sustainability.
Hassan’s selection, from a competitive pool of applicants, highlights FULafia’s dedication to groundbreaking research and sustainable development. As part of the first cohort, he will participate in a two-week Bootcamp in Nairobi, enhancing his skills to address environmental challenges.
The Timbuktoo GreenTech Hub Accelerator Programme, a collaboration between UNDP and iHub, aims to empower startups focused on sustainability, further reinforcing FULafia’s commitment to global innovation efforts.
