Professor Abiodun Iyoro, the Librarian of Federal University of Lafia (FULafia), has underscored the critical role of staff training in ensuring effective library services. Speaking at an in-house training session held at the university’s central library, Iyoro emphasized the need for continuous professional development to meet user needs and enhance library functions.
Iyoro highlighted that libraries are pivotal in universities for providing access to academic resources, fostering collaboration, and developing critical thinking, digital literacy, and problem-solving skills. He stressed that regular training is essential to improve productivity and efficiency, ensuring that libraries continue to serve their vital roles effectively.
The bi-monthly training session was designed to update library staff on various functions and enhance their ability to serve the university community.
