Speaking at the opening of a two-day capacity-building workshop themed “Engagement Optimization in Virtual Learning Environment: A Learner-Centered Approach”, held on Thursday, November 21, 2024, at the Nurudeen Alao Auditorium, Prof. Dauda emphasized the transformative impact of virtual learning, including globalization and personalized education.
The training, designed to address learner feedback, featured seven insightful presentations by experts, covering topics such as integrating electronic resources, ethical considerations, and optimizing learner engagement in virtual classrooms. Notable sessions included:
- “Learning-Centered Approach in the Virtual Classroom” by Dr. Kehinde Bolarinwa.
- “Facilitator and E-Tutor Relationship in the Virtual Classroom” by Dr. Adedunni Adegun.
- “Recording Lectures and Taking Attendance” by Dr. Olusoji Adewunmi.
Prof. Dauda stressed the importance of continuous learning for ODL facilitators to stay relevant and provide impactful student experiences. The workshop continues on November 28, 2024, focusing on E-Tutors.
