FULAFIA Partners Nasarawa State Government (NSG) on Cultural Day

The Federal University of Lafia (FULafia) has stated its readiness to partner with the Nasarawa Gtate Government, through the Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Development, to develop the University's Centre for Cultural Studies.

This was made known by the Vice-Chancellor, Federal University of Lafia, Professor Shehu Abdul Rahman, when he led a delegation of FULafia staff to the Commissioner of Women Affairs, Hajiya Aishatu Rufai Ibrahim, on a working visit.

The visit took place in her office at Lafia, recently.

The vice-chancellor told the commissioner that the visit was made to inform her of the plans of FULafia Centre for Cultural Studies to hold a public lecture on Wednesday October 18, 2023, at the Mallam Adamu Adamu Lecture and Office Complex, Permanent Site Campus of the University.

Abdul Rahman, represented by Dr Alhassan Abdulkareem, the deputy director of the centre, stated that the proposed partnership between the University and the ministry of women affairs would benefit both institutions.

Earlier, in her response, the commissioner, Hajiya Aishatu Rufai Ibrahim, thanked the vice-chancellor and his delegation for finding Nasarawa State Government and her ministry, in particular, worthy of such a collaboration, noting that  FULafia under the stewardship of Abdul Rahman has witnessed tremendous development.

“We are ready to collaborate with FULafia,” she said, promising to support the centre.
