Professor Adam Adebayo Sirajudeen of the Federal University of Lafia (FULafia) has called for the use of Afrabic studies to tackle national challenges.
Delivering his 19th inaugural lecture, titled "Beaming the 'Dark Africa': Construction, Deconstruction and Reconstruction of Afrabic Historiography," Prof. Sirajudeen highlighted the untapped potential within Afrabic studies for addressing issues posed by globalization and digital technology.
He urged stakeholders to explore Afrabic manuscripts related to African knowledge systems and stressed the need for increased Afrabic language competence for both academic and broader communication purposes.
The event, held at the university's Permanent Site Campus, concluded with Vice-Chancellor Professor Shehu Abdul Rahman commending Sirajudeen's contributions to the field.
