FULafia VC commends SRC for constructing sitting areas for students

The Vice-Chancellor of the Federal University of Lafia (FULafia), Prof. Shehu Abdul Rahman, has  commended the Students Representative Council (SRC) for providing conducive  sitting areas for students in the University environment.

The sitting areas were constructed in some strategic locations in the University.

The vice-chancellor gave his commendation when he led the principal officers of the University to commission the sitting areas.

 the vice-chancellor appreciated the students' leaders for naming one of the sitting areas after him, saying: “Take the welfare of those you represent seriously.”

He assured them that the University’s Management prioritised students welfare, saying it would continue to ensure a conducive environment for effective teaching and learning.  

In his welcome address, the President of SRC, Comrade Ibrahim Musa Ogabo, thanked the vice-chancellor and his Management team’s members for making time to honour the request of the SRC to commission the project.  

He said that the project was executed by the SRC, 2021-2022 set to enable the students to have spaces to relax and interact with themselves before or after their lectures.

Also speaking, the Dean of Student Affairs, Prof Sambo Muhammad Hudu, expressed his gratitude to the SRC for the honour done to him by naming one of the sitting areas after him.

He also commended the students for thinking positively towards the development of the University.

 

Each of the four sitting areas which were constructed at different locations within the Permanent Site Campus of the University was commissioned by a principal officer.

The principal officers at the commissioning exercise included the Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Research and Partnerships, Prof Samaila Dakyes, the Registrar Mallam Nuradeen Abdul, and the University Librarian, Prof. Abiodun Iyoro.
