FULOKOJA Governing Council Names Streets, Facilities After Distinguished Donors, Past VCs, and Other Key Officers

Another significant milestone has been recorded in the annals of the Federal University Lokoja under the visionary leadership of Professor Olayemi Akinwumi, as the Governing Council, led by Professor Zubairu Tajo Abdallah, at its 7th regular meeting for January 2026, graciously approved the recommendations of the Committee on Street and Facility Naming.

This landmark decision was made to formally recognize and immortalize the names of distinguished donors and officers whose selfless contributions, dedicated service, and enduring legacies have left indelible marks on the University's historical development and growth. Their impact, etched into the institutional memory of the Federal University Lokoja, will now be permanently preserved through the naming of selected streets and facilities across the two campuses.

This approval not only reflects the University’s deep appreciation for service and philanthropy but also reinforces its commitment to honouring excellence, sacrifice, and transformative leadership. The individuals so recognised stand as enduring symbols of commitment to the vision and progress of the University.

Members of the University community and the general public are hereby invited to take note of this historic recognition and naming for proper identification and future reference.
