The management of Federal University Lokoja (FUL) has issued a strict code of conduct for the upcoming second semester examinations of the 2023/2024 academic session, set to commence on Monday, August 12, 2024. This announcement aims to ensure the smooth and orderly conduct of examinations, reinforcing the importance of adherence to university regulations.

In a memo addressed to the university community, the management emphasized the need for both staff and students to comply with the examination rules and regulations as outlined in the University Student Handbook (2021-2026 revised edition). Sections 13.3.1 and 13.3.2 of the handbook detail offenses that constitute examination malpractices, both within and outside the examination hall, along with their respective penalties.

The highlighted offenses and corresponding penalties include:

1. Disobedience/Insubordination, Rudeness, and Insulting an Invigilator/Examiner: Penalty - Rustication for two semesters.

2. Possession of Relevant Textbook(s), Notebook, Prepared Material, or Piece of Paper in the Examination Hall: Penalty - Expulsion from the university.

3. Oral Seeking/Soliciting and Getting Academic Assistance in the Examination Hall: Penalty - Rustication for two semesters.

4. Impersonation/Writing for Another Candidate in the Examination Hall: Penalty - Expulsion from the university.
