Al-Hikmah University Student Missing in Ondo Amid Kidnapping Suspicions

Family and friends of Akindoyo Gideon, a 300-Level Computer Engineering student at Al-Hikmah University, Igbaja, Kwara State, are deeply concerned as his whereabouts remain unknown.

Gideon, aged 30, traveled home to visit his parents in Ode Irele, Irele Local Government Area of Ondo State to gather provisions before returning to school. However, anxiety has gripped the community since he went missing on Monday, June 11, 2024, after riding his motorbike to his parents’ farm in Lumeko village.

Lumeko village, situated between Igbobini and Ode Irele communities in Ese Odo and Irele Local Governments respectively, has become the center of search efforts after Gideon's motorbike was found parked at a cassava farm where he intended to work.

Mrs. Janet Akindoyo, Gideon’s mother, recounted his last known activities and pleaded for assistance from authorities and the public in locating her son.Confirming the incident, the Police Public Relations Officer of Ondo State Police Command, Superintendent Funmilayo Odunlami-Omisanya, assured ongoing efforts by security personnel in the forest areas to find Gideon, with investigations underway.

The community remains on edge awaiting further updates as efforts continue to locate Akindoyo Gideon.
