The Federal University Lokoja (FULOKOJA) celebrated the matriculation of 191 postgraduate students into its Doctoral Programmes during the 2nd Matriculation Ceremony held at the National Institute for Legislative and Democratic Studies (NILDS) in Abuja. The event took place on Tuesday and marked a significant milestone in the collaboration between FUL and NILDS.

During the ceremony, the students took the matriculation oath, administered by the Registrar, Dr. Rebecca Aimiohu Okojie. Out of the 191 matriculated PhD candidates, 131 were admitted under the joint partnership, while the remaining 60 were accepted from outside the FUL-NILDS collaboration.

The Doctoral Programmes that welcomed new students include various fields such as Elections and Party Politics, Legislative Drafting, Leadership and Strategic Studies, and Peace and Conflict Studies. Other areas of study featured in the ceremony were Climate Change Resilience and Sustainability, Conflict and Security Studies, Development Studies, and Public Sector Management, among others.

In his address, the Vice-Chancellor of FUL emphasized the importance of academic distinction, urging the new students to strive for excellence in their studies. He encouraged them to take full advantage of the resources available to them through the university and its partnership with NILDS.
