FULokoja to Partner CIOTA as Institute Inaugurates Kogi State Chapter

The Vice-Chancellor, Professor Olayemi Akinwumi received in audience members of the Executive Committee of the Chartered Institute of Transport Administration of Nigeria (CIOTA) led by the Registrar and Secretary to Council, Mr. Rasheed Aiyelabegan, FInstTA.

The courtesy visit followed the inauguration of the Kogi State Chapter of the professional body under the Chairmanship of Professor Musilimu A. Adetunji on 30th January 2024 at the Faculty of Social Sciences Board Room, Federal University Lokoja. 

During the meeting, the Vice-Chancellor, at the behest of the CIOTA's Registrar, expressed the University's willingness to enter into a strategic partnership with the Institute to run professional programmes in transport management and administration at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels, beginning with certificate and diploma programmes, as well as establishing a Center for the Institute in FUL, among other aspects of the proposed collaboration.

Professor Akinwumi, therefore, directed relevant stakeholders and the Department of the University to work in synergy with the Institute to bring up a workable proposal for consideration. The meeting which was attended by the Principal Officers, Dean of Social Sciences, and Head of the Department of Geography, witnessed the exchange of gifts and souvenirs between both Institutions.
