FUNAAB Appoints Prof. Sakiru Akinbode as New Director of Centre for Entrepreneurial Studies

The Vice-Chancellor of the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB) has approved the appointment of Professor Sakiru Akinbode as the Director of the Centre for Entrepreneurial Studies (CENTS).

According to a formal statement released by the Acting Head of the Directorate of Public Relations, Mr. Olasunkanmi Olajide, the appointment is a recognition of Professor Akinbode’s "proven academic leadership capacity" and his consistent contributions to the university’s growth.

The official appointment letter, signed by the Registrar, Dr. Titus Adeniyi, specifies a three-year tenure effective from January 2, 2026, through January 1, 2029. Professor Akinbode, a specialist in Development Economics, currently serves as the Deputy Dean of the College of Entrepreneurial and Development Studies (COLENDS).

Beyond his scholarly pursuits, Professor Akinbode has served as a consultant for international organizations and government agencies, specializing in policy analysis, environmental impact assessments, and business feasibility studies. His administrative track record within FUNAAB includes serving as Head of the Department of Economics (2018–2020) and holding key executive roles within the ASUU-UNAAB chapter.

The University Administration expressed strong confidence that Professor Akinbode’s wealth of experience will advance CENTS’ mission of driving innovation, skills development, and entrepreneurial excellence among students and the wider community.
