The Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB) has called for the grooming of Domestic Violence Ambassadors among its students to help curb the menace in society.

The Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Babatunde Kehinde, represented by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Development, Prof. Olawale Dairo, made the call on September 17, 2025, during a courtesy visit by the President and Founder of Mercy Link Care and Support Foundation, New Jersey, USA, Pastor Yewande Efodili. She was at the University to explore partnership opportunities on enlightenment campaigns against domestic violence.

Pastor Efodili, who shared her personal survival story, highlighted the Foundation’s initiatives and reaffirmed her commitment to supporting victims through empowerment programmes. Since its launch in Abeokuta in November 2024, the NGO has identified and empowered victims in Odeda Local Government through various skills training.

Commending the efforts, the Vice-Chancellor advised that empowerment should be given in kind to ensure sustainability, while assuring that the University remains open to impactful collaborations.
