FUNAAB Postgraduate School Sees Leadership Transition: Prof. Gboyega Adebayo Hands Over to Prof. Olusiji Sowande
The Postgraduate School of the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB) witnessed a formal leadership handover on December 5, 2025, as Prof. Gboyega Adebayo concluded his tenure as Dean and Prof. Olusiji Sowande assumed the role.
The Postgraduate School of the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB) witnessed a formal leadership handover on December 5, 2025, as Prof. Gboyega Adebayo concluded his tenure as Dean and Prof. Olusiji Sowande assumed the role.

Prof. Adebayo, who served six years in various leadership capacities—including three years as Deputy Dean, three years as Dean, and a brief term as Acting Dean—reflected on his time in office, stating, “The most important thing is that I am leaving the Postgraduate School better than I met it; that is a goal everyone should aspire to.” He likened the School to a “Ministry of Works,” urging staff to sustain their dedication and voicing confidence in his successor’s ability to continue advancing the institution.
In his acceptance speech, Prof. Sowande, an alumnus of FUNAAB with both M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees, outlined a vision focused on excellence, collaboration, and full digitalisation of School operations to enhance efficiency. He emphasized strengthening ties with the University’s Colleges and reaffirmed his commitment to sustaining high-quality postgraduate education.
The handover ceremony was attended by staff members of the Postgraduate School, marking a smooth transition and the continuation of its pursuit of academic and administrative excellence.
