FUNAAB Student Christianah Idowu Allegedly Killed by Friend, to be Buried

Christianah Idowu, a 300-level student at the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB), will be buried today at the Sabo Ikorodu Cemetery in Lagos State. She was allegedly murdered by her friend, Adeleye Ayomide, a 200-level student at Olabisi Onabanjo University, after being abducted and a ransom of N3 million was demanded from her family.

Christianah Idowu, a 300-level student of the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta State (FUNAAB), is set to be buried today, September 19, at the Sabo Ikorodu Cemetery in Lagos State. This follows a tragic incident in which she was allegedly murdered by a friend after her family paid a ransom for her release.

Idowu, who was residing in the Itaoluwo area of Ikorodu and undertaking industrial training at the University of Lagos, was abducted on the Ikorodu-Yaba road. The abductor, who initially contacted her family demanding a ransom of N3 million, was later identified as Adeleye Ayomide, a 200-level Philosophy student at Olabisi Onabanjo University.

Following her abduction, Idowu’s body was exhumed by the police for an autopsy. The result of the autopsy is currently pending. After the examination, her remains were returned to her family for burial.

Adeleye Ayomide is currently in police custody and awaits arraignment. The investigation into the case is ongoing, and further legal proceedings are expected once the investigation is complete.
