FUNAAB Vice-Chancellor to Receive ISN Distinguished Fellowship as University Signs Security Education Partnership

Professor Babatunde Kehinde, Vice-Chancellor of the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB), will be awarded the Distinguished Fellowship of the Institute of Security, Nigeria (ISN). The conferment ceremony is scheduled for November 23, 2024, at the University of Lagos (UNILAG).

Professor Babatunde Kehinde, Vice-Chancellor of the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB), will be awarded the Distinguished Fellowship of the Institute of Security, Nigeria (ISN). The conferment ceremony is scheduled for November 23, 2024, at the University of Lagos (UNILAG).

The announcement was made by ISN’s Deputy President, Barrister Adebayo Akinade, during a recent Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) signing ceremony between FUNAAB and ISN. The agreement aims to strengthen security training and education at FUNAAB, facilitated through the newly established Institute of Communication and General Studies (ICGNS).

While welcoming the ISN delegation on November 8, 2024, Prof. Kehinde expressed enthusiasm about the collaboration, emphasizing the need for enhanced security training within the university. He commended ISN’s expertise and reaffirmed FUNAAB’s dedication to integrity and excellence, noting that the university has a wealth of experts who could contribute to security education and training programs.

Barrister Akinade highlighted ISN’s commitment to fostering security management and intelligence gathering in Nigeria and stressed that the partnership would elevate the standard of security education and promote knowledge exchange. To mark the beginning of the collaboration, ISN donated books and journals to FUNAAB's Nimbe Adedipe Library.

The agreement, witnessed by officials from both institutions, seeks to bolster security awareness and training among FUNAAB’s students and staff, providing them with access to professional development in security management.
