The Federal University, Oye-Ekiti (FUOYE) has celebrated its emergence as the 11th best university in Nigeria in the latest Times Higher Education (THE) World University Rankings, an improvement from its 12th position in the previous year.

The Federal University, Oye-Ekiti (FUOYE) has celebrated its emergence as the 11th best university in Nigeria in the latest Times Higher Education (THE) World University Rankings, an improvement from its 12th position in the previous year.

In a statement released on Sunday, the university described the recognition — benchmarked against the 2026 assessment year — as a reflection of FUOYE’s dedication to strategic planning, quality research, and innovation-driven academic development.

The Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Abayomi Sunday Fasina, lauded the achievement, emphasizing that it underscores FUOYE’s progress toward becoming one of Africa’s leading research institutions.

The university management also commended the leadership of the Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of the Governing Council, Senator Victor Ndoma-Egba (SAN), describing his guidance as instrumental to the institution’s stability and growth.

“We believe in our Chairman, distinguished senator and revered Senior Advocate of Nigeria, Senator Victor Ndoma-Egba. His leadership continues to inspire stability, growth, and academic excellence within the institution,” the management stated.

The university further cautioned a former staff member against circulating false or inciting statements aimed at disrupting institutional harmony, warning that such actions could undermine its collective progress.

FUOYE reaffirmed its commitment to peace, transparency, and sustained academic excellence, in pursuit of its vision to rank among Africa’s top-tier universities.
