FUTA Alumni Association (Ekiti State Chapter) Launches Scholarship Scheme to Support Indigent Students

The Federal University of Technology, Akure (FUTA) Alumni Association, Ekiti State Chapter, has unveiled a comprehensive scholarship program aimed at providing financial support to deserving students who are indigenes of Ekiti State and are currently enrolled at FUTA. This initiative underscores the association's commitment to giving back to its alma mater and empowering the next generation of scholars.
The announcement was made during the second edition of the Business Meeting, where Comrade Samuel Omoniyi-Ojo, the Ekiti State Chairman of FUTA Alumni, expressed gratitude to members for their steadfast support and dedication to the growth and development of the university. The annual gathering served as a platform for both younger and older members to connect, fostering a sense of community and shared purpose among alumni.
A noteworthy highlight of the event was the presence of Hon Bamidele Faparusi, a former member of the House of Representatives, who chaired the Alumni Scholarship Fundraising committee. Hon Faparusi pledged his personal commitment to contribute N250,000 annually to the scholarship initiative, setting a commendable example for other members to follow suit. The collective generosity of the alumni community ensured substantial contributions to the scheme, which is poised to commence this year.
The establishment of this scholarship program signifies the impactful role of alumni networks in creating positive change and supporting educational endeavors.
