FUTA Celebrates Staff and Students for Excellence and Productivity

The celebration formed part of the 2025 Excellence and Productivity Award Night, a key event in the activities marking the university’s 36th Convocation Ceremony. Awards were presented across five categories, including the Vice-Chancellor’s Award of Excellence, Long Service Award, and Students’ Leadership Award, spanning various departments of the university.
In her address, Vice-Chancellor Professor Adenike Oladiji praised the awardees, affirming, “I can confirm that all the people nominated for this award have truly performed excellently. The Excellence and Productivity Award is part of the university’s effort to acknowledge and appreciate the outstanding contributions of our staff and students. This tradition encourages higher productivity and fosters commitment to the vision of FUTA becoming a world-class university of technology.”
Professor Oladiji emphasized that the celebration was also a way to recognise the sacrifices of awardees, noting, “We want your families to know that those times you were absent from home, those times they needed your attention and you were still at work are acknowledged. We are not rewarding you in secret; we are rewarding you in the open.” She charged the awardees to use their recognition as a benchmark for continuous improvement and further contributions to the advancement of the university.

Earlier, the Registrar, Mr. Charles Adeleye, lauded the Vice-Chancellor’s leadership, describing her as “a God-given leader, a patriotic and quintessential leader whose vision and care for staff have fostered industrial harmony and excellence in the university.”
The Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Development), Professor Sunday Okuyama, who chaired the Award Committee, presented 95 awardees to the Vice-Chancellor, who confirmed that all recipients were selected on merit.
Also speaking, Professor Eunice Adeparusi, Chairman of the Ceremonial Committee, praised the Vice-Chancellor’s joyful disposition at the ceremony and commended the awardees for their dedication to service. On behalf of the awardees, former Registrar Professor Modupe Ajayi thanked God for the occasion and pledged continued commitment to advancing FUTA’s mission as a leading university of technology.

The event highlighted FUTA’s commitment to rewarding excellence, fostering productivity, and promoting a culture of recognition and continuous improvement among staff and students.
