The Federal University of Technology, Akure (FUTA) recently celebrated the promotion of 23 senior members of its academic staff to the prestigious rank of Professor. 

These accomplished individuals span various disciplines within the university, and their elevation was marked by a reception organized by FUTA's Governing Council and Management.

During the event, Vice Chancellor Professor Adenike Oladiji emphasized the significance of celebrating newly promoted professors. She described the professorial position as the pinnacle of academic achievement, emphasizing that professors serve as ambassadors for both the university and their respective fields. Professor Oladiji urged the new professors to exhibit exemplary behavior, provide leadership, and mentor younger colleagues. She highlighted the importance of supporting the growth of junior academics, emphasizing that mentorship fosters a strong academic community.

Pro Chancellor and Chairman of the Governing Council, Senator Prof Nora Daduut, commended the university's management for celebrating the professors. Senator Daduut emphasized the value of mentorship, stating that it was essential for adding value to both the university and the nation.
