FUTA is set to host its combined 34th and 35th Convocation Ceremonies from November 22 to 30, 2024, celebrating the academic achievements of graduating students.

FUTA Gears Up for Combined 34th and 35th Convocation Ceremonies

The Federal University of Technology, Akure (FUTA) is set to host its combined 34th and 35th Convocation Ceremonies from November 22 to 30, 2024, celebrating the academic achievements of graduating students.

In preparation for the event, FUTA has issued important guidelines for graduating students:

  1. Mandatory Participation in Academic Procession:
    Graduating students must fully participate in the academic procession dressed in approved academic gowns. Gowns will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis after the payment of prescribed fees.

  2. Academic Paraphernalia:
    Students are required to pay for specially designed scrolls, official paraphernalia, and an e-copy of the Order of Proceedings, which includes the names of all graduates.

  3. Ph.D. Graduates:
    All Ph.D. students must purchase designated academic gowns through the School of Postgraduate Studies.

  4. Robing and Procession Timings:

    • Graduates must report to the robing venue at the car park of the Obafemi Awolowo Auditorium by 8:00 a.m.
    • The procession begins promptly at 8:30 a.m.
    • Students not fully robed or arriving late will not be permitted to join the procession.
  5. Venue Protocols:
    Graduates will not be allowed to enter or exit the venue during the ceremony.

Students are advised to liaise with their respective Schools for schedules, fee payments, invitation cards, and other necessary details. Additional instructions and links for payments are available on the university’s official website, www.futa.edu.ng.
