FUTA Man O’ War Marks 35th Annual Passing Out Parade and Investiture: New Leaders Emerge as Outgoing Command Receives Commendations

The Man O’ War Command at the Federal University of Technology Akure (FUTA) recently conducted its 35th Annual Passing Out Parade and Investiture of new officers, marking a significant transition in leadership. The ceremony, held on November 25, 2023, symbolized the graduation of Patriots and the official transfer of responsibilities to the incoming leaders who will guide the organization in the upcoming academic session for the 2023/2024 Regime.

Dr. Mrs. Modupe Ajayi, the Reviewing Officer of the parade and former Registrar of the university, commended the Man O' War for consistently surpassing their call of duty by maintaining law and order on campus. Dr. Ajayi acknowledged the organization's unwavering commitment to ensuring FUTA remains a peaceful community, emphasizing its contributions to the stability of the academic calendar.

Praising both past and present leaders, Dr. Ajayi recognized their service, including support for various causes within FUTA and community outreaches beyond the university. She encouraged them not to falter in their dedication to serving the university community and the nation at large.

In his handing-over speech, Patriot Joshua Nweke, the outgoing Chief Coordinator of Man O’ War, FUTA Command for the 2022/2023 regime, reflected on the journey, stating, "Today marks the end of an incredible journey and the beginning of another greater remarkable phase. Despite facing challenges, we turned these obstacles into opportunities, strengthening our bonds within the club and the larger university community."

Nweke highlighted the organization's legacy, not just in tangible acquisitions or completed projects, but in the spirit of service that defines it. He expressed deep respect for the Vice Chancellor, Professr, Federal University of Technology Akure, for the support and guidance received during their tenure.
