The Federal University of Technology, Akure (FUTA), Ondo State, is set to graduate 519 students with first-class honors during its combined 34th and 35th convocation ceremonies, covering the 2022/2023 and 2023/2024 academic sessions.

Speaking at a press conference, the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Adenike Oladiji, disclosed that a total of 6,404 undergraduates and 960 postgraduates would be awarded degrees. The breakdown includes 3,408 second-class upper division graduates, 2,139 second-class lower division graduates, and 339 in the third-class category.

Prof. Oladiji emphasized the university’s commitment to academic excellence, stating that none of its 59 academic programs has lost accreditation. Efforts to secure approval for seven additional programs are ongoing.

Highlighting FUTA's infrastructure advancements, the VC noted the administration's focus on improving physical facilities and resolving energy challenges to create a conducive learning environment. “I am optimistic about a brighter and more inspiring second half of my vice-chancellorship,” she added.
