FUTHW Officially Inaugurated into SSAUTHRIAI; New Branch Executives Sworn In
The Federal University Teaching Hospital Wukari (FUTHW) was officially inaugurated today as a member of the Senior Staff Association of Universities, Teaching Hospitals, Research Institutes and Associated Institutions (SSAUTHRIAI).
The event was attended by members of the hospital’s top management team, SSAUTHRIAI executives, and staff members.
Speaking on behalf of the Chief Medical Director (CMD), the Chairman, Medical Advisory Committee (CMAC), Dr. Tensaba Akafa welcomed the union executives and assured them of the hospital’s full commitment and support for the union’s activities within the confines of the law.

Also addressing the gathering, the Director of Administration, Mr. Theophilus welcomed the union members and emphasized the vital role of trade unions in every organization. He encouraged staff members to actively participate in and support SSAUTHRIAI.
In his remarks, the Sector Chairman, Comrade Ken Bassey, provided a brief history of the union, highlighting its leadership structure, guiding principles, and the numerous benefits of union membership He also conducted the swearing-in and oath-taking ceremony for the newly inaugurated officials of the FUTHW branch.
In his inaugural address, the newly elected Chairman of the FUTHW branch, Comrade Sallah Zando Ziken, expressed appreciation to the CMD and hospital management for their support, partnership, and the opportunity provided for the establishment of the union branch. He also thanked the National Executive Committee for its unwavering efforts and confidence in his team.
Comrade Sallah pledged that his leadership would focus on three key pillars: welfare, dialogue, and unity. He further promised to serve members with integrity, fairness, and courage.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by the Chairman of the FMC Jalingo Branch, Comrade Rayyanu Ibrahim, who expressed gratitude to all attendees for making the inauguration a success.
