The Management of the Federal University of Technology Ikot Abasi (FUTIA) has issued an urgent warning to the University Community and the general public regarding a potential security breach involving the WhatsApp phone line of the University Registrar, Mrs. Offiongita E. Nkang.

The Management of the Federal University of Technology Ikot Abasi (FUTIA) has issued an urgent warning to the University Community and the general public regarding a potential security breach involving the WhatsApp phone line of the University Registrar, Mrs. Offiongita E. Nkang.

The phone line was reportedly compromised by unknown fraudsters.

As a result, FUTIA Management advises everyone to ignore any financial, material, or other solicitations or directives coming from the compromised phone line. The University and the concerned Management Staff will not be held responsible for any losses incurred due to actions by the perpetrators.

FUTIA is working diligently to restore the phone line and has called on security agencies to investigate the matter and hold those responsible accountable. The University urges members of the community and the public to remain vigilant and cautious to avoid falling victim to fraudulent schemes.
