Goodluck Jonathan Dialogue: Kenya Ex-President Urges African Leaders to Prioritize Education for Development
Former President of Kenya, Uhuru Kenyatta, urged African leaders to invest in education for children across the continent in order to drive innovation and development. Kenyatta stressed the importance of education in ensuring inclusivity, diversity, and providing equal opportunities for all children in Africa.

Kenyatta made this call during the Goodluck Jonathan Democracy Dialogue programme in Benin, organized by the Goodluck Jonathan Foundation (GJF) where he served as the chairman.

During the event, Kenyatta stressed the importance of education, stating, “I urge African leaders to prioritise investment in education to ensure inclusivity, diversity, and equal opportunities for all children in Africa. This will create a conducive environment for innovation and growth.”
He further added, “As we gather here today as African leaders, let us approach this task with the seriousness it deserves, knowing that these children are the future leaders of tomorrow.”

Highlighting the need for strategic development, Kenyatta emphasized the importance of African leaders and policymakers in propelling the continent forward. “In evaluating our educational curricula against global trends, Africa must adopt systems that promote critical thinking, innovation, and creativity, thus propelling the continent to unprecedented heights,” he elaborated.
Kenyatta also advised African leaders to empower youth with the necessary tools to actively participate in the global economy.
