Governor Ademola Nurudeen Jackson Adeleke of Osun State visited Apostle Dr. Folorunso Alakija, Chancellor of Osun State University (UNIOSUN), at Famfa Oil's head office in Lagos to express gratitude for her philanthropic contributions, especially the donation of a world-class teaching hospital to the university.

In a significant gesture of gratitude, Governor Ademola Nurudeen Jackson Adeleke, the Executive Governor of Osun State, paid a thank-you visit to the Chancellor of Osun State University (UNIOSUN), Apostle Dr. Folorunso Alakija, at the Famfa Oil head office in Ikoyi, Lagos, on Thursday. Governor Adeleke commended Dr. Alakija for her remarkable philanthropic efforts, particularly her generous donation of a world-class teaching hospital to the university.

Governor Adeleke highlighted the transformative impact of the new teaching hospital on the local community, emphasizing that it offers numerous employment opportunities for the indigenes of Osun State and fosters collaboration with the university to promote its growth. "I personally want to celebrate you for your philanthropic gesture," Governor Adeleke stated.

In addition to expressing his gratitude, Governor Adeleke discussed potential partnerships with Dr. Alakija in reviving key industries, such as cocoa production in Ede, showcasing his commitment to regional development.

Apostle Dr. Folorunso Alakija responded by commending Governor Adeleke for his proactive leadership and ongoing developments in Osun State. She praised him as an "action Governor" and encouraged him to sustain his commendable efforts. Dr. Alakija also reflected on her six years of service as Chancellor, noting that her tenure will conclude in March 2026. She expressed her satisfaction in completing the hospital project, which is poised to serve patients from across Africa with its advanced facilities.

The Vice-Chancellor of Osun State University, Professor Odunayo Clement Adebooye, expressed his appreciation for the Governor's support, which complements Dr. Alakija's contributions to the university. He acknowledged that Governor Adeleke had approved the construction of the access road linking the hospital to the university, a project now 70 percent complete. Professor Adebooye also praised Dr. Alakija for her unwavering support and announced her anticipated participation in the university's 14th convocation ceremony on September 21.
