In a significant environmental initiative, Governor Babagana Umara Zulum launched the 2023 Borno State Tree Planting campaign with the participation of distinguished figures, including Professor Umar Kyari Sandabe, Vice-Chancellor of Borno State University.
The event commenced with Governor Zulum planting a tree at the premises of the Borno State University Teaching Hospital, marking the beginning of the 2023 Tree Planting Campaign themed "Trees for Resettlements."
Organized by the Borno State Ministry of Environment, the campaign aims to promote afforestation and environmental sustainability, especially in regions undergoing resettlement efforts.
Special Guest of Honour, Governor Babagana Umara Zulum, underscored the importance of this campaign in combatting deforestation and enhancing the environment's overall health.
The Vice-Chancellor, Professor Umar Kyari Sandabe, led a delegation from Borno State University, including the Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Professor Fanna Inna Abdulrahman, and Registrar, Dr. Zanna Mustapha Kashim, as they actively participated in the tree-planting initiative.
