Governor Zulum Promises University Scholarships to 37 construction workers in Bama

Governor Babagana Zulum of Borno State has announced a commendable initiative to provide university scholarships for 37 laborers actively involved in constructing resettlement houses for Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) in Nguro Soye village, Bama Local Government Area (LGA). This pledge was made during Governor Zulum's inspection visit to the construction site.
During the visit, Governor Zulum interacted with the workers and learned that 37 of them possessed senior secondary school certificates. In response to this discovery, the governor extended an inspiring offer to support their educational aspirations. He promised that any laborer who successfully passes the tertiary education examination and secures admission into a university will be fully sponsored to pursue their undergraduate education.
The governor enthusiastically expressed, "Let me know how many of you have completed secondary school, and we will sponsor you to pursue undergraduate degree courses at the university."

In addition to this generous scholarship announcement, Governor Zulum also inspected the facilities at Umar Ibn Ibrahim College of Education, Science and Technology (UIICEST) in Bama, which had previously been damaged by Boko Haram insurgents. He directed the Commissioner for Reconstruction, Rehabilitation, and Resettlement, Ibrahim Idris, to conduct a thorough assessment of the damages incurred at the staff quarters and students' hostels.

The rehabilitation of these damaged facilities is a significant step towards enabling students and staff to fully utilize the college, which currently operates on a limited basis. Governor Zulum's commitment to education and the well-being of his state's workforce is evident in these initiatives.
