Health Records Accreditation Team Inspects SHIM, OAUTHC for Accreditation

A delegation from the Health Records Officers Registration Board of Nigeria embarked on a crucial visit to the School of Health Information Management (SHIM) at the Obafemi Awolowo University Teaching Hospital's Complex from the 23rd to the 26th of October, 2023.

Dr. Femi Macaulay led the accreditation team, and during their visit, they were accompanied by Mr. Akingbola Omokanye, the Acting Head of the School. The primary objective of their visit was to conduct a comprehensive evaluation of SHIM's facilities, academic standards, and other critical areas in preparation for accreditation and potential advancements.

The team took an extensive tour of SHIM, meticulously examining its academic and infrastructural aspects. They commended the Management of SHIM for their dedicated efforts and progress thus far. Furthermore, they expressed optimism for further improvements upon their next visit.

In a warm reception, the Chief Medical Director, Prof. John Okeniyi, received the accreditation team. Prof. Okeniyi conveyed his appreciation for the team's dedication to ensuring academic excellence in health information management. He also assured them of his commitment to implementing necessary improvements as required.
