IAIICT gets new Director
Until his appointment which was approved by the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Kabiru Bala, on 17th March, 2023, Umar was the Assistant Director, Iya Abubakar Institute of ICT, and Head of ICT at School of Postgraduate Studies, Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria.
Just as Dr. Sa’ad named Ag. Director, CILS; Prof. Mujtaba reappointed Ag. Director, Centre for Venom, Anti-Venom & Natural Toxins Research
Muhammad Shuaibu Umar has now replaced the Acting Director of Iya Abubakar Institute of Information and Communication Technology (IAIICT), Dr. A.F. Danfack Kana, as the substantive Director of the Institute.
Until his appointment which was approved by the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Kabiru Bala, on 17th March, 2023, Umar was the Assistant Director, Iya Abubakar Institute of ICT, and Head of ICT at School of Postgraduate Studies, Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria.
“I write to appoint you as Director, Iya Abubakar Institute of Information and Communication Technology, Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, with effect from 17th March, 2023, for a period of two years”, a letter conveying the appointment said.
Umar, by the appointment, will be responsible to the Vice-Chancellor for the day-to-day operations of the Institute.
His appointment, according to the letter, was in recognition of his administrative and leadership qualities. He was enjoined to work hard for the upliftment of the Institute and the University in addition to being honest and fair in all his official dealings.
At the Centre of Islamic and Legal Studies (CILS), Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, Dr. Sa’ad Musa Abubakar will replace the Director, Prof. Mohammed Bello Uthman, as the Acting Director, as approved by the Vice-Chancellor.
Dr. Sa’ad’s appointment takes effect from 17th March, 2023 and that he will be responsible to the Vice-Chancellor for the day-to-day operations of the Centre.
A letter, “Appointment as Acting Director, Centre for Islamic and Legal Studies”, explained that Sa’ad’s appointment was in recognition of his administrative and academic qualities.
While urging him to be honest and fair in all his official dealings, the Vice-Chancellor urged him to continue to render his contributions towards the development of both the Centre and the University.
The Vice-Chancellor also approved the re-appointment of Prof. Mujtaba Sulaiman Abubakar of the Department of Pharmacognosy and Drug Development, as the Acting Director, Centre for Venom, Anti-Venom and Natural Toxins Research, for another period of one year.
By his reappointment, effective from 2nd March, 2023, Prof. Mujtaba will be responsible to the Vice-Chancellor for the day-to-day operations of the research centre.
The Vice-Chancellor urged him to continue to render his contributions towards the upliftment of the Centre and the University as a whole.
