The Ignatius Ajuru University of Education (IAUE) in Rumuolumeni, Port-Harcourt, has officially renamed its Faculty of Management Sciences to the Faculty of Administration and Management.

The Ignatius Ajuru University of Education (IAUE) in Rumuolumeni, Port-Harcourt, has officially renamed its Faculty of Management Sciences to the Faculty of Administration and Management.

This change, approved on October 30, 2024, during a Senate meeting, is part of the university's efforts to modernize its academic structure.

In addition, the Department of Management Sciences will now be called the Department of Business Administration. These updates reflect the university’s commitment to providing relevant educational programs that meet current industry standards.

Professor Okechuku Onuchuku, the Acting Vice Chancellor, thanked Senate members for their support and emphasized the importance of recruiting qualified candidates. He encouraged patience as the selection process for new faculty members is finalized.

The university is also enhancing access to the Tetfund's aggregated database for theses and dissertations. Deans and Heads of Departments are required to submit these documents to the library in both hard and soft copies, which will help boost the university’s visibility and ranking.

 

Furthermore, the Senate has urged students to report any unethical treatment to foster a more supportive academic environment. Various faculty results were also approved during the meeting, highlighting ongoing academic progress at IAUE.
