IBB University Lapai Addresses Reports on Temporary Closure

The Management of Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida University, Lapai, has issued a statement to clarify the circumstances surrounding the university's temporary closure.

The university was forced to close due to security breaches and loss of lives, and the management is working closely with the state government, security agencies, and host community to restore peace and order.

The university management has denied reports that Governor Umaru Mohammed Bago unilaterally ordered the closure without consultation. Instead, the decision was a necessary precaution to ensure the safety of students and staff.

The university has urged stakeholders to support the government and university leadership in finding practical solutions to ensure the safety, security, and academic stability of staff and students. The management has also dissociated itself from a recent publication attributed to Senator Isah Mokwa, which it claims contains misleading information.
