The Management of Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida University, Lapai, has issued a statement to clarify the circumstances surrounding the university's temporary closure.

The university was forced to close due to security breaches and loss of lives, and the management is working closely with the state government, security agencies, and host community to restore peace and order.

The university management has denied reports that Governor Umaru Mohammed Bago unilaterally ordered the closure without consultation. Instead, the decision was a necessary precaution to ensure the safety of students and staff.
