The program is open to adults who did not have the opportunity for formal secondary education but have undertaken private tuition or self-study, and have achieved proficiency in several subjects, often through ordinary or advanced levels of the General Certificate of Education (G.C.E).

The popularity of the MSP at ESUT has grown significantly over the years.
