The Vice Chancellor of Enugu State University of Science and Technology (ESUT), Professor Aloysius-Michaels Okolie, has raised concerns over the escalating insecurity claiming more lives on Nigerian roads than the combined impacts of damaged vehicles and poor road conditions.

Highlighting the gravity of the situation, Professor Okolie commended the FRSC for their unwavering efforts in promoting road safety across the country. He urged the marshals to prioritize their safety while enforcing regulations on Nigerian roads, which he described as increasingly hazardous due to the prevailing economic hardships.
"We are witnessing a tragic scenario where insecurity has become a more significant threat to lives than the state of our roads," Professor Okolie remarked during the meeting aimed at introducing the new Unit Commander of FRSC, Ozioma Okeke, to ESUT's management.
