ITF Commends AFUED Management for SIWES Support

The Industrial Training Fund (ITF) has commended the Management of Adeyemi Federal University of Education (AFUED) Ondo for its support to the Student Industrial Work Experience Scheme (SIWES).

The commendation was made by Mrs. Grace Ajagbe, a senior official from the ITF Akure, Ondo State Area Office, during a one-day orientation exercise for NCE and Degree II students of the university.

Ajagbe emphasized that SIWES is a bold initiative by the Federal Government to complement theoretical learning with practicals in Nigerian tertiary institutions. She urged students to make judicious use of the knowledge acquired during the training to improve their lots.

The ITF officials advised participants to abide by the code of conduct guiding the scheme, including being dedicated, faithful, loyal, and honest at their various places of engagement. They also emphasized the importance of punctuality, dedication, and safety.

The AFUED SIWES Coordinator, Dr. A. A Akinkuolie, expressed appreciation to the university management for its support and lauded departmental coordinators and supervisors for their cooperation. He advised students to put in their best effort, as participating in SIWES is a requirement for graduation.
