Taraba State University Graduates Face Uncertainty Over Statements of Results

A growing crisis is unfolding at Taraba State University (TSU), where graduates are being denied access to their statements of results despite completing their programs.

The affected students, who transferred into the Department of Public Health during the 2021/2022 academic session, claim they were initially cleared to graduate but were later removed from the graduating list.

The students allege that they were directed to register and sit for an introductory course alongside their counterparts in 100-level, which they complied with. However, after graduation, they were informed that they needed to clear pending carryovers from their former departments, with some being advised to pay fresh fees and re-register courses that did not align with Public Health requirements.

The students have taken their grievances to various offices within the university, including the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academics), the Director of SERVICOM, the Dean of the Faculty, and their Head of Department. Despite formal complaints, the students claim that no official statement or circular has been issued by the university.

The university's response to the situation remains unclear, leaving the students in a state of uncertainty. The students are seeking resolution and access to their statements of results, which are essential for their future academic and professional pursuits.
